Transparency note. CheerFinds is paid by retailers: if an offer you found here is honoured at a checkout, the retailer sends us a commission. Nothing you pay changes. How that works

What CheerFinds collects, why, who sees it, and how to have it corrected or deleted.
This page explains what CheerFinds does with information about the people who read it. It is written to be read rather than to be survived, and it describes this site specifically rather than every website in general.
CheerFinds is published by Nimra Suhaib, 2110 Rockport St, Windsor, Ontario, Canada, who is the controller of any personal information described here. Questions, requests and complaints all go to shahida@cheerfinds.com.
The short version
You can read every page of this site without giving us anything at all. We ask for information in exactly two places — the contact form and the weekly email — and in both cases you decide to type it. We do not sell it, we do not rent it, and we do not hand it to anyone for their own marketing.
What we collect, and why
| What | When | Why we have it | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your name, email address and message | You send the contact form | To answer you, and to keep a record of code reports and takedown requests so we can show what was done | Two years from the last message, then deleted |
| Your email address | You sign up to the weekly email | To send you that email and nothing else | Until you unsubscribe, which takes one click |
| Server log entries: IP address, browser, page requested, time | Any page view | Keeping the site up and fending off abuse | Kept briefly by the hosting company and not used by us to build any profile |
| A dismissal marker in your browser’s local storage | You dismiss the cookie notice | So it does not reappear on every page | Until you clear your browser |
We do not ask for a date of birth, a postal address, a payment card, a government identifier or anything about your health, beliefs or background. There are no reader accounts to register for and no passwords to lose.
The legal basis
Where the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR or a comparable law applies to you, our grounds are these. Replying to your message and sending an email you asked for rest on your consent, which you may withdraw whenever you like. Keeping the site running securely, and keeping a record of correspondence about codes and takedowns, rest on our legitimate interests in operating a site that works and can account for itself. We do not rely on legitimate interests for marketing.
Who else sees anything
- The hosting company stores this site and its server logs on our behalf, under a contract that binds it to process them only as we instruct.
- The mail service that carries messages from the contact form and the weekly email handles addresses in transit for the same purpose.
- Affiliate networks and retailers receive nothing from us. When you follow an offer you visit them directly, and from that moment their own privacy policies apply to what they record. What comes back to us is a count of sales and a commission figure — never a name, a basket or a card.
- Nobody else. We have never sold, rented or traded reader information, and we do not intend to. If this site were ever sold, whoever took it over would inherit these commitments and you would be told before anything changed.
What we do not do
There is no advertising on CheerFinds, so there is no advertising profile of you. We run no analytics package, no remarketing pixel, no fingerprinting and no cross-device matching. Nothing on this site makes an automated decision about you, because there is nothing here to decide.
Your rights
Wherever you are reading from, you may ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, stop using it, or send it to you in a portable form; and you may object to a use or withdraw a consent at any time. Write to shahida@cheerfinds.com. We answer within thirty days and there is no charge. We may ask you to confirm the address the request comes from, which is generally all the identification we need, given how little we hold.
If you are in California, the CCPA gives you those rights in its own words, including the right to know what categories of personal information have been collected and disclosed, and not to be treated worse for exercising any of them. We have no “sale” or “share” of personal information to opt out of, because we do neither. If you are in the UK or the EU and you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to your national supervisory authority; we would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
Children
CheerFinds is written for adults doing their own shopping and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under sixteen. If you believe a child has sent us information, write and it will be deleted straight away.
Where information is held
The site is hosted in the United States and the owner is in Canada, so information described here may be handled in either. Where a transfer out of the UK or the EU is involved, it happens on the basis of your consent or under the standard contractual clauses our suppliers have signed.
Keeping it safe
The whole site is served over HTTPS. Administrative access is limited to the owner. We hold as little as possible, for as short a time as possible, on the straightforward principle that information never collected cannot leak. No system is perfect, and if a breach ever affected you we would tell you and the relevant regulator as quickly as the law requires.
Other people’s sites
Every retailer link here leaves CheerFinds. We have no control over what those sites collect and this policy stops at our edge. Their policies are worth a look before you hand over anything at a checkout.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the new version is published here before it takes effect, and anyone on the weekly email is told in it. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the revised version.
